Crochet Bohemian Star Garland - free pattern

Welcome to an insanely easy and immensely lovely crochet star tutorial!

Again for this I used Nako's Vals sport yarn and a 1.9 mm hook.

Pattern:

Chain 5 and join to make a ring.

Rnd1: sc4 and sl st in the 1st st to make the 5th.
Rnd2: Ch3 and in the same st make dc2. Ch 3 and dc3 in the next st. Repeat this for all other stitches. Sl st in first ch/dc to finish round.

Rnd3: sl st in the next 2 st (2dc in rnd below) to get to the space between the fans/dcs and in the space sc1, hdc1, dc1, ch3, dc1 hdc1, sc1. sl st in the next 2 st and repeat the filling pattern. Repeat all to make a full round.
Rnd4: when you make the final point of the star ch 4 and in the space of the next star-point sc1, hdc1, dc2, ch3, dc2, hdc1, sc1, ch3 and sl st in between the two points. Ch4 and repeat the top filling pattern. Sl st between last and first point when the round is done. And that is it!

It is a kind of combination of rustic and bohemian due to the added cones. Next I would love to try this pattern with a chunky yarn just to see the effect it will create. Hope you make some for yourself.

Is this your crib - decoration? Its really sweet. I love the moose (or is it an elk?) and the ball laden tree and the birdhouse. They are atypical yet beautiful. Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas

Haha... that would be quite unietodox. No.This is not my crib decoration. It is actually the top of a dresser which shows a winter / Christmasy scene. I do have another dresser which is more into the Christmas spirit though :)

I'm glad to be back because I almost missed this! Crocheting these stars is much easier that it looks at first glance and they look very chic with the cones and balls decoration. Thanks for sharing!
